Dealing with Worry

This information is for educational purposes only and should not replace medical advice. Always talk to your healthcare provider for medical decisions.

Most Important Things to Know:

When you worry about checking your blood pressure, you're not alone. Many people feel nervous. Your body reacts to these feelings. This can make your blood pressure go up.

Your blood pressure changes all day. A higher reading when you're nervous doesn't mean your blood pressure is high.

You can take steps to feel less nervous. You may notice some days are worse than others. That's okay! Try your best to stick with it.

Remember:

  • Your feelings are valid. It's normal to be worried about your health.

  • Knowledge is power. Understanding your blood pressure can help you take charge of your health.

  • You're in control. You decide when and how to check your blood pressure.
