About HealthEd for Everyone

We are a volunteer-run nonprofit dedicated to creating clear, accessible health education resources. Our mission is to ensure that language and complexity are never barriers to understanding one's health.

Internship Details

  • Duration: 3-6 months

  • Cohort of 2 interns

  • Time Commitment: 5-10 hours per week (will work with you based on your schedule)

  • Location: Remote with option to meet in person for feedback/onboarding

Available Roles 

To be adjusted based on your career goals

1. Health Content Creator

  • Help create clear, accessible health education materials

  • Help create infographics, images, and other visual materials

  • Assist in adapting complex medical information into plain language

  • Assist with the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Education project

2. Digital Marketing and Social Media Intern

  • Help manage and grow our online presence

  • Develop and implement digital marketing strategies 

  • Create engaging content for social media and newsletters

3. Research Intern

  • Assist in literature reviews 

  • Help write manuscripts for publication

  • Create clear, accessible 

  • Assist with the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Education project

4. Web Development Intern

  • Help maintain and update our website

  • Assist in creating interactive health education tools

  • Implement accessibility features

5. Project Support Intern

  • Assist in coordinating various projects and initiative

  • Help create and maintain project timelines and task list

  • Support development of project documentation and reports

6. UX Design Intern

  • Contribute to the design of user-friendly, accessible materials 

  • Create wireframes and prototypes for new features

  • Conduct user research and usability testing

7. Programming Intern

  • Assist in developing software solutions to support our mission

  • Create data visualization tools for clear communication 

  • Assist with technical implementations of various projects

8. Your Proposed Role

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a paid internship?

Currently, this is an unpaid, volunteer internship. We're a small nonprofit, but we're committed to providing a valuable experience and mentorship.

Can I get college credit?

Unfortunately we don't have the resources to offer college credit right now. We are open to projects that you can use toward your degree and that further the mission of HealthEd for Everyone.

Will I have support?

Yes, you will meet with the CEO of HealthEd for Everyone, Aaron Vrolijk, weekly or bi-weekly. You will also work with our partners and other advisors, depending on your tasks and role.

Can I suggest a role or project?

Absolutely! Your ideas can help make HealthEd for Everyone better for everyone.

What if I realize mid-internship that I am more interested in a different project?

We want to foster your growth as you explore career paths, so we will work with you to determine the best way to adjust your role.
